Speakers:

Craig Flynn, Director, Government Travel Policy, US General Services Administration (GSA)

John Lawless, General Counsel, Omega World Travel

John Lawless has been with Fairfax, VA based Omega World Travel as General Counsel for over eleven years. Prior to his time with Omega he was in private practice in his home state of Kansas. He is admitted in Virginia, Kansas and the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the US Court of Federal Claims. He belongs to the American Association of Corporate Counsel where he is a member of the IT & eCommerce, Employment & Labor Law and Litigation Communities. He also belongs to the IP, Labor and Employment and Government Contracts committees for the Virginia and DC Bar's. He is currently a board member and Vice President of the Society of Government Travel Professionals. He has extensive experience in government contracting, including the government procurement of travel. He is also experienced in commerical litigation, commercial transactions and ecommerce. During his time with Omega he established precedent related to internet marketing in a case entitled Omega World Travel v. Mummagraphics. He has been published in the International In-house Counsel Journal and has also written for several travel related events.

Shane Downey, Director, Public Policy, GBTA

Shane Downey is the Director of Public Policy for the Global Business Travel Association. In this role Shane oversees GBTA's lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill, the countrywide grassroots campaign, and the NBTAPAC. Shane comes to GBTA with over 11 years of government affairs experience. Prior to joining GBTA, Shane was a Senior Associate at a lobbying firm in Washington, D.C. In 1996, Shane oversaw the successful reelection of an Ohio Congressman. Shane received his B.A in History from The Ohio State University.
